Worship

We are a welcoming community

We welcome you. Our 400-year-old tradition celebrates individual belief and experience. We draw from many sources as together we find our own religious paths.

We welcome you as you are. We champion equality of women and men. We advocate racial and ethnic diversity and accept sexual orientation as a natural part of our human makeup. Our families are as varied as our society is.

Our Sunday morning services start at 10:30 a.m.
at the ringing of the chimes,
with a casual flavour throughout the year.

SPIRITUAL EXPLORATION /
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
RECOGNITION MONTH

Sunday, May 4
Rev. Jeffrey Brown
Yom HaSho’ah
Hardwired to Hate?

At this time of the year when we remember the Holocaust (Yom HaSho’ah), it is important to explore the roots of prejudice. Why do we create the “Other” and how is this dynamic so powerful — both within ourselves and our human societies? Finally, can respect and self-respect counteract its gnawing effects?

“To stir up their own . . .”

Education and exploration are lifelong projects. While we sometime try to relegate schooling to a relatively brief period in our early lives, it continues as long as we are curious and want to explore what we don’t yet know. Our Spiritual Exploration (Education) programs seek to develop our young people’s wonderings about themselves and the world that they inhabit. This morning we ask the question: “What is spiritual exploration” all about?”

Sunday, May 18
Miles Hearn
One Man's Life in Music

Today we welcome our own cherished Music Director to speak to us about his life in music. For the past four years, Miles has been the man behind the piano, accompanying us as we sing, providing us with inspirational music during times of reflection and meditation, and directing our choir. Today, Miles will be both in front of and behind the piano, as he shares stories of a life immersed in music. Miles will also be featuring the UCM Choir in what promises to be a unique and enjoyable morning.

Sunday, May 25
Rev. Jeffrey Brown
More Than Spiritual

We are more than meaning makers. We are more than social activists. We are more than continually curious individuals. We are more than friends and acquaintances. What makes this community more than a social club or a movement for change? Today we explore what happens when we attempt to encompass the wholeness of creation.

Sunday, Undated
A Typical Service

If you are new to Unitarian Universalism then you could be wondering what a Sunday service might be all about.  A typical service is featured here with pictures taken at a number of services and a composite Order of Service. Each week is a bit different to accommodate what is happening with the congregation and the world at large.
